Austin-Travis County EMS Careers

Welcome to Austin-Travis County EMS Careers! If you are ready to apply with us, you can view all open positions here. If you are not quite ready to apply but would like to receive email updates from the ATCEMS Recruiting team, please complete a Connect Profile.

ATCEMS typically hosts several Training Academy classes per year. While we do accept applications continuously, we hire in cycles to fill each Academy class so there are deadline dates for each application cycle. Applications must be submitted by the deadline listed for each Academy class--once the posting has closed, additional applications will not be accepted for that class. Be sure you’ve read through the Hiring Process page for information on minimum requirements and how the application process works. The Careers page is kept updated with important hiring process dates for each Academy class.

Note: A complete application and supporting documents must be submitted by the application deadline. Complete applications include your last 5 years of work history (ALL full-time, part-time, internship, volunteer, temporary, seasonal, contract work or military service must be included) with gaps of unemployment for 6 months or more explained. Supporting documents include: EMT certification(s); certified abstract driving record(s) for the last 3 years (or since you were licensed), to include all states in which you held a driver's license during this period; and DD-214 Member 4 copy for all military applicants. Full details can be found on our Hiring Process page.

Please be sure to review eligibility requirements, disqualifiers, benefits/pay, sample schedules, and more for the Medic – Field position and the Medic – Communications positions at emsrecruiting.org. Applications and required documents must be submitted by the application deadline in order to be considered for each hiring process. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Full details for each step in our hiring process, including which documents are required, can be found here.
